Amanda Morris here,
Welcome to Gospel School! I am Amanda Morris, the founder of Gospel School and author of Spiritual Enrichment. My husband Wendell and I have six wonderful children of whom I have enjoyed the honor of homeschooling.
I have endured a great struggle to strike the right balance between creating an educational environment in our home that is both academically sound, and spiritually rich.

Accomplishing this in a manner that is fully pleasing to God has often unsettled my heart, and kept me on my knees seeking direction for what our home education culture should look like. While the sun is still rising above the clouds on this subject, the light is becoming more clear, and writing this curriculum has become a vital part of the answer to many prayers. ​

How It All Started... Pascale's Story
Meet our fifth child, Pascale. At three years old, she was very eager to know the Lord. Whenever her parents or older siblings were praying or reading the Bible, she would come in and ask, "Can you please read the Bible to me?" or, "Can I pray with you too?"
Although the answer was mostly "yes," it simply wasn't enough for Pascale to join in on "others'" time with the Lord, she wanted her own walk. So for about a year, Pascale prayed, "God, please teach me how to read, so that I can read the Bible all by myself, and then, I don't have to always have my family read it to me."
If you could imagine how much this touched my (let alone the Lord's) heart. Teaching her to read was a top priority in our home education. So at four years old we began the journey! As she began to connect letters and sounds, she prepped me many times before the big purchase with, "Mommy, when you get my bible, I really want a 'real' adult bible. I don't want pictures and colorfulness."

So just when she could read three letter words and phonics blends (though not perfectly), we made the purchase. It was purple, however, but just a solid color, and a NKJV, and she thought it was great!
So off to the prayer closet all by herself she went! But of course the skills she gained as explained above aren't enough for a little 4 year old to read a NKJV Bible, right? I'm glad you asked...of course not.

So I recorded myself reading one chapter of the Gospel of Matthew each week, and every day for a week she would sit with her bible, listen to the recording while pointing to each word and repeating it out loud, but difficult words were repeated twice. Afterwards, she'd pray and sang songs to God. And just like that, her prayer was answered!!!

And even more than that...

A couple weeks later, I wanted to see if this exercise was helping her with reading at all. I had her read Matthew chapter two to me without the recording, and to my complete surprise she read it like an adult! Then I had her read chapter three which I had not yet recorded, and she read it like a well trained third grader! I couldn't believe it! She was only four, and it had only been two full weeks!
I asked the Lord if this was a miraculous blessing from Him because of her hunger, or if I had stumbled upon a new reading technique that could help many other children. I think the answer is both!

Later, after I accepted the challenge to write a reading curriculum, the Lord begin to give me children's poems before, during, or after waking up from sleep. I would literally hear clear complete short poems, after which I would store them on my phone. I wondered if this was the start to a children's poetic devotional that would go into the future curriculum, and now A Devotional Book of Rhymes has come into being.
The hearing of poems, as well as a book, ideas for other books, and guidance and for next steps, continued to occur in my sleep, and also as I was falling asleep or waking up. I couldn't believe it! I never knew God partners with people in this way! But He does and He is!! I am beyond honored that I was chosen by God to do this work for His people, and to Him alone, I owe all glory, praise, honor and thanks!

Now, I am blessed with a double honor, both to receive from the Lord this gift of service, and also to serve you and your family, churches, and the beloved body Christ worldwide! May your hearts and spirits be lifted, strengthened, equipped, and graced to pursue the Lord with all your might, and to abound in good and precious fruit that remains for all of eternity, in the exalted name of the King of Glory, Jesus Christ.

and magnify this ministry to the extend that Your praise alone would be lifted!​
